I absolutely loved the first book and couldn't wait to read this one!
In this book, Meda is still Meda. Meaning: she's still half demon and still eats people. But she's now living with The Crusaders, who all want her to be what she's not. Meaning: human. She tries out the role of the Good Girl, but she just can't do it and The Crusaders still hate her for what she is. Meda is beginning to feel like she's in a prison and escapes out to, um, eat from time to time. She ends up meeting another half demon who tried to persuade her to join the demonic side. Which half of her does she want to become?
I still love Meda. She's a very, um, interesting character. Not only is the whole "I eat people" thing there, but she has so much snark, sarcasm, and is just full-out blunt about everything. I just love her unique personality!
This book is all-in-all about Meda. It's about Meda basically being forced to decide which half of her to turn into. I say forced because Meda really doesn't want to be either. I really hate what happens to Meda in this book. I feel for her (though, don't tell Meda that because she would probably punch me). The Crusaders are a bunch of a-holes. They can't look past the monster half of Meda and want to fully control her. If they can't do that, they want to kill her. The Crusaders her age also they to kill her, but the leaders do nothing of it. It's obviously all Meda's fault.
It's really no wonder why Meda becomes tempted by the darkside, per say. Armand is the guy she meets and he offers her freedom from The Crusaders, fun, and food. At the time, Meda has no one to really turn to. Even Jo doesn't seem to be on her side. Really, this entire book focuses on Meda and her two halves.
IN CONCLUSION
This was an amazing sequel! If you read the first book, you definitely need to read this book! If you haven't read the first book, what are you waiting for????!
I will definitely read any more books in the series!
