Waiting on Wednesday: Icons by Margaret Stohl

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine, where you talk about whatever book you are IMPATIENTLY WAITING for!

This week I am waiting for...

Icons (Icons, #1)

Goodreads Description:
Your heart beats only with their permission.

Everything changed on The Day. The day the windows shattered. The day the power stopped. The day Dol's family dropped dead. The day Earth lost a war it didn't know it was fighting.

Since then, Dol has lived a simple life in the countryside -- safe from the shadow of the Icon and its terrifying power. Hiding from the one truth she can't avoid.

She's different. She survived. Why?

When Dol and her best friend, Ro, are captured and taken to the Embassy, off the coast of the sprawling metropolis once known as the City of Angels, they find only more questions. While Ro and fellow hostage Tima rage against their captors, Dol finds herself drawn to Lucas, the Ambassador's privileged son. But the four teens are more alike than they might think, and the timing of their meeting isn't a coincidence. It's a conspiracy.

Within the Icon's reach, Dol, Ro, Tima, and Lucas discover that their uncontrollable emotions -- which they've always thought to be their greatest weaknesses -- may actually be their greatest strengths.

Waiting on Wednesday: The Distance Between Us by Kasie West

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine, where you talk about whatever book you are IMPATIENTLY WAITING for!

This week I am waiting for...

                                                             Goodreads Description:

The Distance Between UsSeventeen-year-old Caymen Meyers studies the rich like her own personal science experiment, and after years of observation she’s pretty sure they’re only good for one thing—spending money on useless stuff, like the porcelain dolls in her mother’s shop.

So when Xander Spence walks into the store to pick up a doll for his grandmother, it only takes one glance for Caymen to figure out he’s oozing rich. Despite his charming ways and that he’s one of the first people who actually gets her, she’s smart enough to know his interest won’t last. Because if there’s one thing she’s learned from her mother’s warnings, it’s that the rich have a short attention span. But Xander keeps coming around, despite her best efforts to scare him off. And much to her dismay, she's beginning to enjoy his company.

She knows her mom can’t find out—she wouldn’t approve. She’d much rather Caymen hang out with the local rocker who hasn’t been raised by money. But just when Xander’s attention and loyalty are about to convince Caymen that being rich isn’t a character flaw, she finds out that money is a much bigger part of their relationship than she’d ever realized. And that Xander’s not the only one she should’ve been worried about.

I usually don't read contemporary books but I LOVED Pivot Point (which is by the same author) so I am very curious about this book!

RECENT COVER REVEALS!! (April 9th 2013)

There has been a lack of cover reveals lately, so this is my first cover reveals post in weeks!

Daylighters (Morganville Vampires #15)
Daylighters (Morganville Vampires, # 15)
Doesn't really scream "VAMPIRES!" (unless you read the text), but it does scream "Daylight"...
(I usually post links for all books in the series, but as you might have noticed, this is a pretty long series.)

Angel Fever (Angel #3)
Angel Fever (Angel, #3)
I showed the cover reveal for the UK cover earlier here, and in all honesty, I like this cover much much much better!

The Iron Traitor (The Iron Fey: Call of the Forgotten #2)
The Iron Traitor (The Iron Fey: Call of the Forgotten, #2)
To me this says "Iron Fey" more than "Call of the Forgotten" but it is a spin-off series...

Unsouled (Unwind #3)
UnSouled (Unwind, #3)
I have yet to read UnWholly, I really want to, but it might be a better idea for me to wait until this book comes out. Since I haven't read UnWholly, it's hard to judge this cover, but it is creepy...

Scorched
Scorched
And that, my friends, is a kick-butt cover!

Elegy (Watersong #4)
Elegy (Watersong, #4)
I have yet to read this series, but these books have pretty covers!
