Cover vs Cover: Landry Park by Bethany Hagen

This week's pick is...

Landry Park (Landry Park, #1)VS.  Landry Park
Hardcover                   Paperback
This is a hard one because I love both of them! I'm leaning a bit more slightly towards the hardcover though, mostly because of my soft spot for text-based covers. In the paperback, I love the soft colors and the the contrast between the dress! The gold font is also lovely!
 Final Verdict: BOTH

Cover vs Cover: The Rules by Stacey Kade

This week's pick is...

The Rules (Project Paper Doll, #1)VS.  The Rules (Project Paper Doll, #1)
Hardcover                   Paperback
I used to like the hardcover, that is until I noticed the man. I'm not a fan of the dresses on the paperback cover, because it is becoming a bit cliche, but I do like the selective color and the clone-like aspect. I think it works well for the story.
 Final Verdict: Paperback

Cover vs Cover: Tease by Amanda Maciel

This week's pick is...

TeaseVS.  Tease
Hardcover                    Paperback
I've seen the hardcover version in real-life that it looks so much better in person! IT IS EXTREMELY SHINNY! I just can't get into the paperback cover. I'm not a fan of books with faces on them and this one is just too boring. The title font is also very uninteresting.

Cover vs Cover: Palace of Mirrors by Margaret Peterson Haddix

This week's pick is...

Palace of Mirrors (The Palace Chronicles, #2)VS.  Palace of Mirrors
Original                       Redesign
I have nothing against the original, but the redesign is just so lovely. I love the style and I'm much more inclined to pick it up. I'm also not a fan of the girls on the cover of the original. Their clothes don't really work right. Cecilia looks too clean and Desmia (I assume that's Desmia) looks like she's wearing a t-shirt. It also bothers me that they are smiling, there isn't really anything to smile about in this book (until the end, maybe).

Cover vs Cover: End Times by Anna Schumacher

This week's pick is...

End TimesVS.  23281616
Hardcover                      Paperback
The hardcover is not the best, but the paperback is just worse to me. I'm never a fan of orange covers, orange is a fine cover but it usually looks horrible on covers. I really don't like the oil pumps and just the see-though people in general really bother me.

Cover vs. Cover: The Geography of You & Me by Jennifer E. Smith

This week's pick is...

The Geography of You and MeVS.  The Geography of You and Me
Hardcover                      Paperback
Both are great, but I kind of prefer the paperback. I like the photograph more than the silhouettes and the paperback matches Statistical Probability very well!

Final Verdict: Paperback

Cover vs. Cover: Dissonance by Erica O'Rourke

This week's pick is...

Dissonance (Dissonance, #1)VS.  Dissonance
Hardcover                      Paperback
They're both pretty, but the paperback is a bit dull and has too much of a contemporary vibe. I love the hardcover and while not obvious, it has a parallel universe aspect on the cover.

Final Verdict: Hardcover

Cover vs. Cover: Obsidian by Jennifer L. Armentrout

This week's pick is...

Obsidian (Lux, #1)VS.  Beginnings: Obsidian & Onyx (Lux, #1-2)
Original                     Redesign
This is so hard, because I do not like either, but I have to go with the original. I really do not like the new cover. Katy looks naked, the blue reminds me of swimming for some reason, and Katy's skin is really washed-out (though, not as bad as the next one).

Cover vs. Cover: My Heart and Other Black Holes by Jasmine Warga

This week's pick is...

My Heart and Other Black HolesVS.  My Heart and Other Black Holes
Original                     Redesign
I believe that the redesign is now the permanent cover, but I really like the original. I love the colors and the font of the text. I just love it all together. The new covers bores me. I like the font, but the colors are so plain AND IT'S SO OFF CENTER!!!!!!! I know, they probably changed the covers because the original looks too happy, considering the subject, but I still like it better.

Cover vs. Cover: Birthmarked by Caragh M. O'Brien

This week's pick is...

Birthmarked (Birthmarked, #1)VS.  Birthmarked (Birthmarked, #1)
Hardcover                      Paperback
Never really been a fan of the Hardcover. The girl looks a bit odd, probably because only one random bit of her hair is in color. Then there are those random scribbles in the middle. What are those supposed to be? The paperback is simple and it works well with the book. As the ribbon is very important to the plot.
Final Verdict: Paperback

Cover vs. Cover: Blood Magic by Tessa Gratton

This week's pick is...

Blood Magic (The Blood Journals, #1)VS.  Blood Magic (The Blood Journals, #1)
Hardcover                      Paperback

The birds look odd in the hardcover, but I just can't deal with the paperback. It looks too flat and it honestly bores me. In the hardcover, I like the black and white photograph like look with the spots of red.

Cover vs. Cover: Ashes by Ilsa J. Bick

This week's pick is...

Ashes (Ashes Trilogy, #1)VS.  Ashes (Ashes Trilogy, #1)
Original                     Redesign
There is so much improvement! The original cover is so creepy *shudders*
I love the redesign! I like the text placement, the yellow on the black background, it's just so much better!

Cover vs. Cover: Fire & Flood by Victoria Scott

This week's pick is...

Fire & Flood (Fire & Flood, #1)VS.  Fire & Flood - Victoria Scott, redesign, https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/16069167-fire-flood?ac=1
Original                     Redesign
ACK! I hate the redesign so much! It's just a flaming eyeball, which is not original, it's tacky, and has nothing whatsoever to do with the book! I LOVE the original cover! It's one of my all-time favorite covers! I love the text, the little water droplets. And the flaming feather is actually significant to the story!

Cover vs. Cover: The Hollow by Jessica Verday

This week's pick is...

The Hollow (The Hollow, #1)VS.  The Hollow (The Hollow, #1)
Hardcover                      Paperback
I've never really been a fan of the Hardcover. It always creeped me out and looking at it again, I'm still not a fan. Although, now I notice the fact that her skin is wet and the way it's cut off, it looks like she's naked (except the necklace). Add the weird sparkles and the fact that the hand looks detached (again, because of the way it's cut off) and I just feel like there's too many weird things going on here. The Paperback is just a floating necklace, but I think it's a very pretty cover. I love how simple it is, the dark colors, and the textured background.

Cover vs. Cover: Paper Towns by John Green

This week's pick is...

Paper Towns VS.  Paper Towns
Hardcover                      Paperback
I can see where they were going with the Hardcover. I mean, it has Margo on it. And I do like the colors, but, honestly, it's just a face. But the Paperback is much more exciting! I love the map, the giant pin in focus, and even how the title looks as if it's on the map! It's much more interesting and I would be more likely to pick that one up!

Final Verdict: Paperback

Cover vs. Cover: This Song Will Save Your Life by Leila Sales

This week's pick is...

This Song Will Save Your LifeVS.  This Song Will Save Your Life by Leila Sales REDESIGN
Original                      Redesign
This is so hard! I love both of these covers and both covers match the book perfectly! I love the title treatment on the first cover and I love the retro look in the second. It's hard, but I'll have to go with the original, just because there's too much black background on the second cover, but I would definitely buy a copy of either of these!

Cover vs. Cover: Vitro by Jessica Khoury

This week's pick is...

Vitro (Corpus, #2)VS.  Vitro
Original                      Redesign
Both of these are great covers, but I have to go with the original. Don't get me wrong, the original is pretty, but it's too pretty if that makes sense. It doesn't look like the dark sci-fi inside. If it weren't for the test tube in the title, nobody would even be able to guess that it's a sci-fi. The original cover matches the book more closely. It has a more sci-fi vibe and it doesn't mislead you into thinking that this will be a happy book. It's also a wonderful blue color.
