Cover vs. Cover: Unspoken by Sarah Rees Brennan

This week's pick is...

Unspoken (The Lynburn Legacy, #1)VS.  Unspoken (The Lynburn Legacy, #1)
Original                             Redesign
I really really like the original cover!  I love the silhouettes and the illustrated aspect to it! And I admit, I liked the pink. It just looked like a fun yet creepy book, which was exactly what it turned out to be! And then, of course, they changed the cover. The redesign is not a horrible cover, but after the amazing original, I just could not lke it. It doesn't help that the cover looks like almost every other teen paranormal cover.
Final Verdict: Original

Do you agree? Give me your thoughts on which cover is the best!

  1. I like the newer cover better. The original one looks so much younger to me than a teen book should. Although I do like the pink!

    1. I can see what you mean. I guess I like less mature covers? That wouldn't surprise me, as I have a love for MG.

  2. The original cover is so pretty! I wonder why they bothered to change it?

    1. I'm really curious about that too! Maybe it's like what the others are saying, that they wanted a more mature look?

  3. I agree 100% I thought the first cover was perfect! It gave the ready a beautiful put creepy aspect where as it feels like the new cover is trying to be sexy and it just isn't what that book is about. Great post I really enjoy the cover v cover posts =)

    1. I can definitely see a sexy vibe to the new book and I agree with you on how that's nothing like the book.

  4. I have to say I like the redesign a bit better. I looks a little more mature and a lot more sleek.

    1. I can understand that. I just think I have a soft spot for more illustrated covers XD

  5. I prefer the original (why the redesign anyway?) - I would be much more likely to pick it up in the bookstore or library.
